What Insynode is doing

Insynode helps you self-assess your capability for a role using skills linked to occupations. You rate skills from 0 to 5 using whole numbers only, then you can export a PDF profile.

What we store on your device

Saved data is stored locally in your browser (for example, localStorage). This can include:

  • Your selected role
  • Your skill ratings (0 to 5, whole numbers only)
  • Any optional profile details you type in (for example, name), if the UI includes them
  • Any custom skills you add
  • Your recent searches

This local data does not need an account, and you can delete it at any time.

How profile sharing works

If you generate a shareable profile link, the profile data is carried in the link itself (encoded in the URL). Anyone with the link can view that profile.

Important points:

  • Share links can be forwarded. Only share with people you trust.
  • If you change your data, old links do not automatically update.
  • If you want to stop sharing, generate a new link, and use only that one going forward.

How to delete your data

You can clear saved Insynode data in seconds.

  1. Open your browser settings.
  2. Find privacy, cookies, or site data.
  3. Search for insynode.com.
  4. Remove site data (cookies and storage).
  5. Refresh Insynode.

You will know it worked when your recent searches, saved ratings, and saved profile fields reset.

Capability Percentage Calculation

The capability percentage represents your overall skill level for an occupation, calculated as a weighted average of your skill ratings.

Formal Definition:

Let Li ∈ {0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5} be the capability level for skill i,

and wi be the weight for skill i (1.0 for essential, 0.75 for desired).

The overall capability score S is:

S = (Σ wi × (Li / 5)) / (Σ wi) × 100%

Composition: The overall percentage combines essential and desired skills. Essential skills contribute more to the final score (weight 1.0) than desired skills (weight 0.75). Unrated skills are excluded from the calculation.

Capability Framework

Insynode uses the Upleashed Limited research-backed capability framework (0 to 5):

0
0 Not required, or not relevant (safe starting point)

Safe starting point for skills not required or not relevant to your role.

1
1 Awareness (basic vocabulary, needs guidance)

2
2 Basic use with support (can complete tasks with support)

3
3 Confident and consistent (meets expected standards independently)

4
4 Advanced, can guide others (strong judgement, can coach)

5
5 Expert, sets direction (leads change, shapes best practice)

Insynode uses the Upleashed research-backed capability framework (0 to 5). Use whole numbers only.

Pivot Percentage Calculation

Pivot Potential measures how similar another occupation is to your current role based on shared ESCO skills. This helps identify adjacent roles where your existing skills are transferable.

Formal Definition (Jaccard Similarity):

Let A = set of ESCO skills for your current occupation,

and B = set of ESCO skills for a pivot occupation.

The match percentage (Jaccard similarity) is:

Match% = |A ∩ B| / |A ∪ B| × 100%

where:

|A ∩ B| = number of shared skills (skills in both A and B)

|A ∪ B| = |A| + |B| - |A ∩ B| (total unique skills across both occupations)

Coverage: We also calculate coverage as |A ∩ B| / |A| × 100%, which shows what percentage of your current role's skills are present in the pivot role. Higher match percentages indicate greater skill overlap and transferability.

Data sources

Insynode uses structured occupation and skills data (for example, ESCO) to show role skill requirements. Insynode also uses the Upleashed 0 to 5 capability framework to keep ratings consistent and comparable.

How we use analytics

If Insynode includes basic analytics, it should be limited to improving performance and reliability. It should not collect names, email addresses, or share-link content.

Cookies and storage

Insynode aims to use minimal storage:

  • Site preferences (for example, theme)
  • Saved assessments and recent searches on your device
  • No advertising cookies
  • No third-party trackers, where possible
